Ingredients
- Oil
- Mustard – ½ t spoon
- Finely chopped small onions – 15
- Curry leaves – 1 stem
- Pudina leaves – few
- Finely cut coconut pieces – 3 table spoons
- Brinjal – 5
- Pressure cooked dal
- Ground material
- Rice – 1 cup
- Water – 3 cups
- Salt to taste
To grind
- Cumin – 1 ½ t spoon
- Coriander seeds – 3 t spoon
- Curry leaves – 1 stem
- Garlic – 5 pods
- Dry chilli -3
- Pepper powder- ½ t spoon
- Fennel – 1 t spoon
For Dal preparation
- Split and Dried lima beans (Motchai paruppu) -1/4 cup
- Water – 1 cup
- Castor oil – 1 t spoon
- Turmeric -1 t spoon
- First pressure cook the items given under dal preparation by allowing 3 vissils. Separate the dal by filtering the water and use it later when water is needed to cook rice.
- Sauté the items given in the same order in another pressure cooker
- Once the brinjal turns slightly brownish add the filtered dal , ground material, rice and water ( use the dal water ).
- Pressure cook by allowing 3 visils and serve hot .
