DRUMSTICK SAMBAR


Ingredients

  • Oil
  • Mustard - 1/2 t spoon
  • Chopped Big / Small Onion 
  • Curry leaves - 2 stem
  • Cumin- 1 t spoon
  • Dry/ Green chilli -1
  • Any 1 Vegetables/ Mixed Vegetables (Brinjal, Raddish, Carrot, Drumstick, Ladys finger, Broad beans etc) - 1 cup
  • Sambar chilli powder - 2 t spoon
  • Salt to taste
  • Tamarind juice - size of a lemon with 1/2 cup water
  • Pressure cooked materials
  • Grated coconut  - 2 table spoon / coconut milk - 1/2 cup
  To pressure cook
  • Toor Dal - 1/2 cup
  • Castor oil - 1 t spoon
  • Turmeric - 1/2 t spoon
  • Water - 3 cups

Method


  1. Pressure cook the given items by leaving for 3 visils and smash it with laddle.
  2. Heat the oil and saute the items given above in the same order.
  3. Once the vegetable is 3/4th cooked add Tamarind juice and allow to boil well.
  4. Then add the pressure cooked items and coconut milk and boil well untill the raw smell goes.
  5. Garnish with coriander leaves and serve.
